Doctor Who Vs. Silent Witness, Series 6

The sixth season of Silent Witness, first broadcast on BBC1 in the autumn of 2002, again starred Amanda Burton as Home Office pathologist, Professor Sam
Ryan. She was now joined by series newcomers, William Gaminara and Tom Ward, as Doctors Leo Dalton and Harry Cunningham.
Burton left the programme at the start of the eighth season. Gaminara starred in over a hundred episodes until his character was killed off in the finale of the sixteenth run (2013), whilst Ward left the programme the year before - he then played Captain Latimer in The Snowmen).

The eight-part series began another repeat run on the Drama channel tonight, and featured these thirty-four further Doctor Who cast and crew connections:

The Fall Out (TX: September 28 & 29)
  • Paterson Joseph (Harding) played Rodrick in Bad Wolf and The Parting of the Ways, and voiced Victor Espinosa for Big Finish's Earth Aid (2011)
  • Barnaby Kay (DS Johnson) voiced Martin Donaldson for Dark Eyes 4: A Life in the Day
  • Stuart Clark was a stuntman on Dalek and the 2005 series finale too
  • Guy List was a stuntman on Evolution of the Daleks too
  • Peter Miles was also a stuntman on Tooth and Claw and The Girl in the Fireplace
  • Jo McLaren was a stunt performer on Day of the Moon and Let's Kill Hitler too
  • Jan Nethercot was make-up designer on The Caves of Androzani too
  • dubbing editor Tony Gibson and focus puller Peter Howard both worked on on An Adventure in Space and Time, as sound designer and assistant camera respectively
  • Ian Adrian was also a camera operator on The Vampires of VeniceThe Hungry EarthCold BloodVincent and the Doctor and The Lodger

  • Roger Ennals (Technician here, and Kris in Closed Ranks) was the Gorilla in The God Complex
  • Joseph Long (Lucas) was Rocco Colasanto in Turn Left
  • Cathy Murphy (Alsion) was a Mum in The Christmas Invasion
  • Russell Tovey (Josh) was Midshipman Alonso Frame in Voyage of the Damned and The End of Time, Part 2
  • Ben Crompton (Irons) was Ross (pictured) in Into the Dalek
  • Tim Delap (PC) voiced Falkus for Daleks Among Us (BF, 2013)
  • Tom Lucy was also a stunt co-ordinator on sixteen episodes, from Smith and Jones to The Next Doctor and Torchwood
  • Emma Reid was unit manager on The End of the World and The Unquiet Dead too
Tell No Tales (TX: October 19 & 20)
  • Dominic Rowan (Edgely) voiced Corwyn for The Burning Prince (BF, 2012)
  • Ron Donachie (DCI Telford) was a Steward in Tooth and Claw
  • Sherlock actor Benedict Cumberbatch (Reid) voiced Howard Carter for Forty-Five: False Gods (BF, 2008)
  • Sally Faulkner (Mary) was Isobel Watkins in The Invasion, and voiced Miss Tremayne for Winter for the Adept (BF, 2000)
  • Mary Healey (Betty) was a Killjoy in The Happiness Patrol
  • Glenn Marks was the stunt co-ordinator on The Family of Blood two-parter, and Blink
  • Nicholas Asbury (Officer) voiced Rowe for The Many Deaths of Jo Grant (BF, 2011)
  • Sara Powell (DS Linden here; Tilly in Series 21: One Day) voiced Audrey Newman for The Early Adventures: An Ordinary Life (BF, 2014), and the PA for The Diary of River Song 2 (2016)
  • Big Finish actor Andrew Bone (Scientist) voiced Pan Vexel and Nebrin for The Early Adventures: Domain of the Voord, the Vice Chancellor for The Rani Elite (both 2014), and Woodrow for The English Way of Death
  • Olivia Poulet (Alice) voiced Myrren for Requiem for the Rocket Men, and Pazmi for Planet of the Rani (both 2015)

  • series special make-up effects artist Paul McGuinness was Drathro in The Mysterious Planet
  • regular assistant art director Keith Dunne was stand-by art director on The End of Time, set director on eight other stories (from Blink to The Lodger), and also worked on Torchwood and The Sarah Jane Adventures
  • Matthew Scrivener was assistant director on The Doctor, the Widow and the Wardrobe too
