Doctor Who Vs. Spooks, Series 4

Series regulars Peter Firth, Rupert Penry-Jones, Hugh Simon, Rory MacGregor, and Nicola Walker all returned 
(as Harry Pearce, Adam Carter, Malcolm Wynn-Jones, Colin Wells, and Ruth Evershed) for the fourth season of this award-winning BBC spy drama.
This ten-part run earned a BAFTA for Best Drama series, and saw the introduction of Raza Jaffrey and Miranda Raison (as new MI5 agents Zafar Younis and Jo Portman), and Anna Chancellor (as Co-ordinator Juliet Shaw).
First broadcast on BBC One in the autumn of 2005, series four of Spooks began another repeat run on the Sony TV 
channel last night, and featured twenty-one Doctor Who 
cast and crew connections:
  • Big Finish artist Raison played Tallulah in Daleks in Manhattan and Evolution of the Daleks, and voiced Lareen for both The Davros Mission (2007) and The Wreck of the Titan (2010), both the Shepherdess and Acquisitor Prime for Persuasion (2013), both Margo and Xais for The Romance of Crime (2015), and she was recently cast as new companion, Constance Clarke introduced in Criss-Cross
  • Corey Johnson (Boyd) was Henry Van Statten in Dalek
  • Jeff Rawle (Home Secretary) was Plantagenet (pictured) in Frontios; Lionel Harding in The Sarah Jane Adventures: Mona Lisa's Revenge; and Mervyn Pinfield in An Adventure in Space and Time
  • Peter Brooke (Peter) was a Man, also in Daleks in Manhattan
  • Nigel Terry (Curtis) was General Cobb in The Doctor's Daughter
  • Andrew Tiernan (Forster) was Mr Purcell in Night Terrors
  • Sherlock actor Rupert Graves (Sampson) was John Riddell in Dinosaurs on a Spaceship
  • Steven Pacey (Howell-Davis) voiced Trevor for The Zygon Who Fell to Earth (BF, 2008)
  • Silas Carson (Prince) first provided various Alien voices for The End of the World, then voiced the Ood for The Impossible PlanetThe Satan PitPlanet of the OodThe End of Time, and Pond Life, and voiced Uvlavad Kudlak in The Sarah Jane Adventures: Warriors of Kudlak
  • Andrew Burt (McTaggart) was Valgard in Terminus
  • Douglas Hodge (Hicks) voiced Edge for Urban Myths, and Radu for Son of the Dragon (BF, both 2007)
  • Debra Gillett (Debra) was Rita Connolly in The Idiot's Lantern
  • Sam Dastor (Barzali) voiced Professor Narayan for The Emerald Tiger (BF, 2012)
  • George Baker (Ross) was Decider Login in Full Circle
  • Greg Bennett (Agent) went uncredited as both a UNIT Soldier and Sycorax Warrior in The Christmas Invasion, and a Guest in The Lazarus Experiment
  • Lindsay Duncan (Angela) was Captain Adelaide Brooke in The Waters of Mars
  • John Pirkis (Meacham) provided a Sphere voice for The Sound of Drums and Last of the Time Lords
  • series film editor Jamie Pearson also edited The Eleventh HourThe Vampires of VeniceAmy's ChoiceVincent and the DoctorThe LodgerThe Rebel Flesh and The Almost People
  • Damian Bromley was cinematographer on The Time of Angels and Flesh and Stone too
  • Paul Kennington was also a stunt performer on the four Cybermen episodes of Series 2 (2006) and The Doctor's Daughter
  • director Julian Simpson also helmed Day of the MoonThe Curse of the Black Spot, and the two-part Gangers adventure
