Doctor Who Vs. Waking the Dead, Series 4

Actors Trevor Eve, Sue Johnston, Wil Johnson, Holly Aird,
and Claire Goose all returned for the fourth season of this
BBC crime drama series, which first aired in the summer of 2004. The finale episode saw the death of DS Mel Silver
(Goose) and the departure of Dr. Frankie Wharton (Aird).
Following an International Emmy award nomination for
series two, and the Drama Series award won a year later, Waking the Dead was re-commissioned for two 
further seasons (with an increased episode count from
this series).
This twelve-part series began another repeat run on the

  • Geoffrey Bayldon (Atkinson) is the oldest actor (born in 1924) to play the Doctor in any medium - he voiced an Unbound Doctor for Big Finish plays Auld Mortality (2003) and A Storm of Angels (2005), and he was Organon in The Creature from the Pit
  • Clive Standen (Raynor) was Private Harris in The Sontaran Stratagem, The Poison Sky and Turn Left
