Doctor Who Vs. Grantchester, Series 2

This period drama from ITV Studios was based 
on The Grantchester Mysteries by Cambridge-
born novelist James Runcie. Anglican vicar Sidney Chambers (played here by James Norton) again joined forces with Detective Inspector 'Geordie' Keating (Robson Green) to solve crimes in the Cambridgeshire village of Grantchester in the 
Actors Morven Christie, Tess Peake-Jones, and
Al Weaver all returned as the other series
regulars, Amanda Hopkins, Mrs. Maguire, and
curate Leonard Finch respectively. David Troughton reprised the role of Chief Inspector Benson.
A third series of Grantchester will follow the forthcoming Christmas special. The six-part second season (which debuted in March of this year) began another repeat 
run on ITV Encore last night, and featured eighteen other Doctor Who cast 
and crew connections:

  • Big Finish artist John Voce (Clark) was Fanshawe in The Woman Who Lived, and voiced Chief Surveyor Hardwick for Last of the Colophon (2014), Branarack for The Entropy Plague, Albert Kennedy for Doom Coalition 1: The Red Lady, Jenkins for The Diary of River Song 1 (all 2015), and Toban for The Age of Endurance (2016)
  • Andrew Knott (Milburn) voiced James O'Meara for 1963: Fanfare for the Common Men (BF, 2013), and Sean Casey for Dark Eyes 2: The White Room (BF, 2014)
  • Oliver Dimsdale (Marlowe) voiced Morecombe and Mervyn Garvey for You Are The Doctor And Other Stories (BF, 2015), Archie Ferrers for The Diary of River Song 1, and Commander Trelon for The War Doctor 2: A Thing of Guile (BF, 2016)
  • Alfie Field (Chapman) was Timmy in The Beast Below
  • Nigel Planer (Montgomery) was Vorgenson (pictured) for the Doctor Who Live: The Monsters are Coming arena tour, and voiced Alex Marlowe for Hothouse (BF, 2009), and both Herrax and the Old Racnoss Emperor for Empire of the Racnoss (BF, new for 2017)
  • Nicky Henson (Archer) voiced Pieter Stubbe for Loups-Garoux (BF, 2001), Dick Turpin for The Doomwood Curse (BF, 2008), and Gregson Grenville for both Deimos and The Resurrection of Mars (BF, 2010)
  • Tim McMullan (Raban) voiced Octavian for Doom Coalition 3 (BF, 2016)
  • Josh Bolt (Crompton) voiced Kalan for The War Doctor 3 (BF, 2016), and Philip for Dethras (new for 2017)
  • Liz White (Vivian) was Alice in The Snowmen
  • Elliot Levey (Herzl) voiced both Gobernar and Blank for Vampire of the Mind (BF, 2016)
  • Ian Conningham (Greaves) was Chuckles in The Girl Who Died, and voiced Sinko, Ronson and Lieutenant for The Third Doctor Adventures 3 (BF, 2017)
  • Lisa Diveney (Rollinson) voiced Dr. Norma Vine for The New Counter Measures 2 (BF, 2017)
  • Kit Connor (Charlie) was Charlie in An Adventure in Space and Time
  • David Mason was also the line producer on The Impossible Astronaut, Day of the Moon and The Angels Take Manhattan
  • George Atkins (ADR mixer) and Sam Biggs (recordist) both worked on The Time of the Doctor and Flatline
  • Crispin Layfield and Belinda McGinley
