Doctor Who Vs. Silent Witness, Series 18

The eighteenth season of this popular BBC One crime drama was first broadcast in early 2015, and 
again starred Emilia Fox (now a veteran of over a 
hundred episodes since 2004) and David Caves as 
doctors Nikki Alexander and Jack Hodgson. 
The Home Office forensic pathologists were again 
joined at the Lyle Centre by Clarissa Mullery and 
Dr. Thomas Chamberlain, played by Liz Carr and 
Richard Lintern.
The five, two-part mysteries began another repeat 
run on the Alibi channel last night, and featured 
these sixteen Doctor Who cast and crew 
connections:

Snipers' Nest (TX: January 6 & 7)
  • Sean Gilder (Clout) was the Sycorax leader in The Christmas Invasion
  • Edmund Moulton (Young Luke) was Adam in The Almost People
  • Ryan Stuart was a stuntman on Nightmare in Silver too
  • series clapper loader Peter Lowden was a camera assistant on The Time of the Doctor
Falling Angels (TX: January 12 & 13)
  • Andrew Tiernan (DCI McLeod) was Mr. Purcell in Night Terrors
  • Steven Elder (Stone) voiced Farrow for Jubilee (BF, 2003), and Rawden for Something Inside (BF, 2006)
  • Ben Ashmore was also the SFX co-ordinator on thirty-six stories (from The Girl in the Fireplace to The Next Doctor), The Sarah Jane Adventures and Torchwood
Protection (TX: January 19 & 20)
  • Daniel O'Hara also directed Under the Lake and Before the Flood
  • Micah Balfour (Garvey) was the Co-Pilot in A Christmas Carol
  • Big Finish artist David Sibley (Judge) was Pralix in The Pirate Planet, and voiced Kurt Schalk for Persuasion, the Eminence for The Seeds of War (both 2013), Dark Eyes 2: Time's Horizon and Destroy the Infinite, and Professor Markus Schriver for Dark Eyes 3 (all 2014)
  • Ross Adams was also the boom operator on thirteen adventures (from Asylum of the Daleks to Flatline)
  • series sound mixer Ronald Bailey was the recordist on Daleks in Manhattan, Evolution of the Daleks, 42 and Utopia
Squaring The Circle (TX: January 26 & 27)
  • Shaun Dingwall (Lansley) played Pete Tyler in Father's Day, and returned as a parallel version of Pete in Rise of the Cybermen, The Age of Steel and Doomsday 
One of Our Own (TX: February 2 & 3)
  • Mark Frost (DCI Sullivan) voiced Shandar for Requiem for the Rocket Men (BF, 2015), and Niccolo Machiavelli for The Ravelli Conspiracy (BF, 2016)
  • Jason Watkins (Hughes) was Webley (pictured) in Nightmare in Silver, voiced the Legate of the Caliph for The Destroyer of Delights, and was the White Guardian in The Chaos Pool (BF, both 2009)
  • Steven Pacey (CS Haynes) voiced Trevor for The Zygon Who Fell to Earth (BF, 2008)
