Doctor Who Vs. Nativity 2

Shown today on BBC2, this British comedy film, subtitled Danger in
 the Manger, was the first sequel 
to Nativity! (2009), and starred 
David Tennant in the dual role 
as Scottish twin brothers, Donald 
and Roderick Peterson.
Marc Wootton and Pam Ferris reprised their roles as Mr. Poppy
(pictured right) and the head of
St. Bernadette's Primary school
in Coventry.
Filmed on location in England and Wales in late 2011, Nativity 2 was released a year later and featured thirteen further Doctor Who cast and crew connections:

  • Jessica Hynes (Angel) played Joan Redfern in Human Nature and The Family of Blood, then (that character's great-grand daughter) Verity Newman in The End of Time, Part 2 - she also voiced Glory Bee for Big Finish's Invaders From Mars (2002)
  • Joanna Page (Mrs. Peterson) appeared opposite Tennant in The Day of the Doctor, as Queen Elizabeth I 
  • Jason Watkins (Shakespeare) was Webley in Nightmare in Silver, voiced the Legate of the Caliph for The Destroyer of Delights, and was the White Guardian in The Chaos Pool (BF, both 2009)
  • Rosie Cavaliero (Miss Rye) voiced Cassie for both Project: Twilight (BF, 2001) and Project: Lazarus (BF, 2003)
  • Ian McNeice (Dad) was Winston Churchill in Victory of the Daleks and The Wedding of River Song (a part reprised by Big Finish for The Churchill Years), and voiced Zeus for Immortal Beloved (BF, 2007) and Reginald Harcourt for Renaissance Man (BF, 2012)
  • Ferris (Mrs. Bevan) voiced Lizzie Corrigan for The Eternal Summer (BF, 2009), and Amanda Steele for Classic Doctors, New Monsters 2 (new for 2016)
  • Amanda Lawrence (Teacher) was Doomfinger in The Shakespeare Code
  • Steve Smith was also a make-up artist on forty-one adventures (from The Christmas Invasion to The Waters of Mars) and Music of the Spheres
  • prop hand Adrian Greenwood was a prop buyer on a dozen stories (from Asylum of the Daleks to The Name of the Doctor)
  • sound mixer John Taylor was a boom operator on The Five Doctors
  • casting assistant Ray Knight made eight uncredited appearances on the classic run - Soldier in (part 4 of) Robot, Sorenson Monster in Planet of Evil (4), Coven Member in Image of the Fendahl, Mentiad in The Pirate Planet, Deon in Meglos (1), Constable in Logopolis (1), Trion in Planet of Fire (4), and Crewman in Dragonfire
  • costume supervisor Fiona McCann was an assistant on Love & Monsters
  • Will Willoughby was also a stunt double on Rose, Smith and Jones, Daleks in Manhattan, Evolution of the DaleksThe Pandorica OpensA Good Man Goes to WarThe Doctor, the Widow and the WardrobeDinosaurs on a Spaceship and A Town Called Mercy
