Doctor Who Vs. Broadchurch, Series 3

Whilst the first series of this multi-award 
winning crime drama focused on the hunt 
for a child killer, and the second season concentrated on the subsequent trial of the 
prime suspect, this third case followed a 
serial rape investigation.
Prolific TV screenwriter and future Doctor 
Who showrunner Chris Chibnall again 
penned this eight-part serial. 
David Tennant and Olivia Coleman both reprised their roles as Wessex Police 
detectives, DI Alec Hardy and DS Ellie 
Miller. Arthur DarvillJodie Whittaker and 
Andrew Buchan also returned as Reverand 
Coates and the Latimers.
The third and final run concluded on ITV last 
night, and starred former Coronation Street
actress Julie Hesmondhalgh, comic actors 
Lenny Henry and Charlie Higson, and sixteen 
other Doctor Who cast and crew connections:

  • Sarah Parish (Cath) played the Empress of the Racnoss in The Runaway Bride

  • Josette Simon (CS Clark) voiced Sarana Teel for The Sontaran Ordeal (BF, 2016)
  • Guillaume Rivaud (Journalist) was a Gentleman in Thin Ice
  • Mariah Gale (Caroline) was Eliza in Knock Knock
  • Charlotte Lucas (Sarah) voiced Duchess Miranda for Kingdom of Lies (BF, 2018)
