Doctor Who Vs. Carry On Behind

The twenty-seventh instalment in the 
Carry On franchise was released in 1975, 
and was the first feature not scripted by 
Talbot Rothwell since Carry On Cruising.
Remaining stalwarts Kenneth Williams (Professor Crump), Joan Sims (Daphne), 
Kenneth Connor (Leaper) and Peter Butterworth (Barnes) were joined by 
Liz Frazer (Sylvia), Jack Douglas (Bragg), Windsor Davies (born 1930),
Ian Lavender (Baxter) and German
actress Elke Sommer, Sid James was 
again absent, whilst Bernard Bresslaw (Upmore) and Patsy Rowlands
(Linda) made their final appearances here.
The film (which utilised the same exteriors at Pinewood as Carry On Camping
was shown today for ITV3's Easter Carry On season, and featured eleven Doctor Who cast connections:

  • Davies (Ramsden) was Toby in The Evil of the Daleks
  • George Layton (Doctor) was Technician Penn in The Seeds of Death
  • Donald Hewlett (the Dean) was Hardiman in The Claws of Axos
  • Stanley McGeagh (Man) was Allen in (episode 3 of) Colony in Space, and Drew in The Sea Devils
  • Kenneth Waller (Baramn) and Roderick Smith (Student) both appeared in The Invisible Enemy as Hedges (2) and Cruikshank
  • Sidney Johnson (Man) was the Old Man in The Mutants (3)
  • for Sam Kelly (Projectionist) see Carry On Dick
  • for Billy Cornelius (Man) see Carry On Screaming
  • for Hugh Futcher (Painter) see Carry On At Your Convenience
  • Peter Roy (Man) was a Greek Soldier in The Myth Makers, Sergeant [Erskine] and Chauffeur in The Faceless Ones (1), UNIT Bunker Soldier in The Invasion (1), Guard in The Seeds of Death (1), The Space Pirates (1), The Face of Evil (1), The Invasion of Time (1), The Androids of Tara (1) and The Armageddon Factor (1), Technic Obarl in The Hand of Fear (1), Policeman in Logopolis (1), Ambulance Man in Castrovalva (1), Market Man in Snakedance (1), and Extra in The Highlanders (1), The Silurians (6), The Sun Makers (1) and Resurrection of the Daleks (1)
