Doctor Who Vs. Carry On Loving

Series stalwarts Kenneth Williams
 (Percival Snooper), Joan Sims (Esme Crowfoot), Charles Hawtrey (James Bedsop), Bernard Bresslaw (Gripper),
 Terry Scott (Philpott), Patsy Rowlands (Miss Dempsey), and Peter Butterworth
(client) all starred in the twentieth instalment in the Carry On franchise.
Sid James and Hattie Jacques played Sidney Bliss and Sophie 
Plummett, owners of the Wedded 
Bliss dating agency. 
Richard O'Callaghan debuted here
as the series' new romantic lead.
Carry On Loving (released in 1970) was shown on ITV3 today, and featured
Joan Hickson (Miss Marple), Bill Pertwee (Dad's Army), and eight Doctor 
Who cast alumni:
  • Robert Russell (Policeman) was a Guard in The Power of the Daleks, and the Caber in Terror of the Zygons
  • Gordon Richardson (Uncle) was Squire in (episode 2 of) The Silurians
  • Rodney Cardiff (Guest here; Outpatient in Carry On Matron) was a Draconian Guard in Frontier in Space (5)
  • Maurice Connor (Guest) was a Gundan in Warriors' Gate (3)
