Doctor Who Vs. Silent Witness, Series 17

The seventeenth season of this popular crime drama
was first broadcast on BBC One in January 2014, and
again starred series regulars, Emilia Fox (a veteran
of almost a hundred episodes) and David Caves as
Home Office pathologists, doctors Nikki Alexander and
Jack Hodgson. Former comedienne and disability rights
activist Liz Carr also returned in her role as Clarissa
Mullery.
Richard Lintern joined the cast here as Dr. Thomas Chamberlain, the new head of the Lyell Centre, following
the death of Professor Leo Dalton in Greater Love.
The ten-part series began another repeat run on the 
Drama channel last night, and featured these twenty-two Doctor Who cast and crew connections:

Commodity (UK TX: January 2 & 3)
  • Daniel O'Hara also directed Under the Lake and Before the Flood
  • Ace Bhatti (Rashid here, and DCI Naval in Series 5: The World Cruise) was Rani's dad, Haresh Chandra, in The Sarah Jane Adventures
  • Paul Marc Davies (Benjamin) was the Chieftain in Utopia, and the Trickster in The Sarah Jane Adventures

  • George Russo (Bond) was Phillip in The Time of Angels and Flesh and Stone
  • Greg Bennett (Constable) went uncredited as both a UNIT Soldier and Sycorax Warrior in The Christmas Invasion, and a Guest in The Lazarus Experiment
  • Scott Stevenson (Policeman) was an uncredited Man in The Rings of Akhaten, The Crimson Horror and The Name of the Doctor, Submariner in Cold War, and Chef in Mummy on the Orient Express

  • Emma Campbell-Jones (Tania) was Dr. Kent in The Wedding of River Song, and Cass (pictured) in The Night of the Doctor, then voiced Shola for both The Paradox Planet and Legacy of Death (BF, 2016)
  • Mark Garrett was the cinematographer on In The Forest of the Night too

  • Morven Christie (DS Kirchner) was O'Donnell in Under the Lake and Before the Flood
