Doctor Who Vs. Brighton Rock

Sir Richard Attenborough (1923-2014) and William Hartnell, the
first actor to portray the Doctor, appeared together in the original 
film version of Graham Greene's 
Brighton Rock, which was shown 
on the Talking Pictures TV channel 
last night.
Attenborough played 'Pinkie' Brown (pictured right), and Hartnell (1908-1975) was Dallow (left). 
Other co-stars with Doctor Who 
connections here are Nigel Stock (Cubitt) and Alan Wheatley (Hale) - Professor Hayter in Time Flight,
and Temmosus in The Daleks.
Released in 2011, a modern remake (co-produced by StudioCanal, BBC Films and Kudos) featured John Hurt
Sam Riley, Andrea Riseborough, Helen Mirren, Andy Serkis, and five Doctor 
Who cast connections:
  • Nonso Anozie was Hydroflax in The Husbands of River Song
  • Phil Davis was Lucius Petrus Dextrus in The Fires of Pompeii
  • Maurice Roeves was Stotz in The Caves of Androzani
