Doctor Who Vs. Wycliffe, Series 3

Jack Shepherd returned as William John Burley's 
Cornish detective for the third season of HTV's 
popular crime drama, and was again joined by Tim 
Wylton (as Franks), Aaron Harris (DS Dixon), Adam
Barker (DC Potter), Jimmy Yuill and Helen Masters 
(as Inspectors Kersey and Lane).
The eight-part series (all original screenplays),
 first broadcast in the summer of 1996, began
another repeat run on ITV3 yesterday, and featured
David Bradley (as Joe Mawnan in the fourth 
mystery) and twenty-two other Doctor Who
 cast and crew connections:

Dead On Arrival (UK TX: June 9)
  • Big Finish artist Charlie Hayes (Ruth Wycliffe) voiced Jade for Master (2003), Jenny for The Seven Keys to Doomsday (2008), Gatlin for Bernice Summerfield and the Criminal Code (2010), Jen (opposite her mother Wendy Padbury) for both The Memory Cheats (2011) and The Uncertainty Principle (2012), Death for Love and War (2012), Veltreena for Lords of the Red Planet (2013), and both Lucilla Fredericks and Nellie for Jago & Litefoot 12 (2016)
  • Stuart Organ (Sowden) was Bazin in Dragonfire, and voiced Helgert Teveler for The Seeds of War (BF, 2013)
  • David Savile (Garforth) was Lieutenant Jeremy Carstairs in The War Games, Professor Winser in The Claws of Axos, and Colonel Charles Crichton in The Five Doctors
  • Pam Mullins was also a make-up artist on twenty-nine revived series adventures (from The Runaway Bride to The End of Time), then the supervisor on another twenty-seven (from The Eleventh Hour to The Wedding of River Song)

  • Kenneth Colley (Peploe) voiced Cristophe Zarodnix for both Sisters of the Flame and Vengeance of Morbius (BF, 2008)
  • Brian Miller (Venning), the widow of Elizabeth Sladen, was Dugdale in Snakedance, voiced the Daleks for Resurrection and Remembrance of the Daleks, and was Barney (pictured) in Deep Breath
  • Tenniel Evans (Stafford) was Major Daly in Carnival of Monsters
Slave of Duty (UK TX: July 7)
  • Dione Inman (Sally) was Elena in (part 1 of) The Twin Dilemma
  • Martha Cope (Sarah) was the Controller in Bad Wolf, and voiced Captain Tanya Oswin in The Nowhere Place (BF, 2006), then Talia in 100: Bedtime Story (BF, 2007)
Total Loss (UK TX: July 14)
  • Michael Goldie (Fisherman) was Jack Craddock in The Dalek Invasion of Earth, and Elton Laleham in The Wheel in Space
Crazy For You (UK TX: July 21)
  • John Shrapnel (Dr. Malvern) voiced Thomas Cromwell for Doom Coalition 3: The Eighth Piece (BF, 2016)
  • Martin Ball (Harper) was Roger Davey in Partners in Crime

Faith (UK TX: July 28)
  • Nigel Humphreys (ACC Lyman) was Bulic in Warriors of the Deep

Old Habits (UK TX: August 11)
  • Steve Slocombe was also the electrician on sixty-five stories, from Army of Ghosts to the present
  • Simon Morris (series third assistant director here and season 4) was the second assistant on  Love & Monsters, the first assistant on seven episodes (from Turn Left to Death In Heaven), then was production manager on seven others (from Robot of Sherwood to Flatline)
