Doctor Who Vs. Broadchurch, Series 3

Whilst the first series of this multi-award 
winning crime drama focused on the hunt 
for a child killer, and the second season concentrated on the subsequent trial of 
the prime suspect, this third case followed
serial rape investigation.
Prolific TV screenwriter and future Doctor 
Who showrunner Chris Chibnall again 
penned this serial - shown over eight
consecutive Monday nights from 
February to April 2017.
David Tennant and Olivia Coleman 
reprised their roles as Wessex Police 
detectives, DI Alec Hardy and DS Ellie 
Miller. Jodie WhittakerArthur Darvill
and Andrew Buchan also returned.
A repeat run of the third and final series
concluded on ITV Encore last night - it
starred comic actors Lenny Henry and 
Charlie Higson, and sixteen other Doctor Who cast and crew connections:

  • Josette Simon (CS Clark) voiced Sarana Teel for The Sontaran Ordeal (BF, 2016), and Taraneh for The Mind Runners (2018)
  • Guillaume Rivaud (Journalist) was a Gentleman in Thin Ice
  • Mariah Gale (Caroline) was Eliza in Knock Knock
  • Charlotte Lucas (Sarah) voiced Bio Technician Valis and Echelon for Cobwebs (2010), and Duchess Miranda for Kingdom of Lies (2018)
