Doctor Who Vs. Strike, Part 2: Career of Evil

This two-part thriller from Bronte
Films was based on the third
crime novel from JJK Rowling,
written under the pseudonym
of Robert Galbraith.
 Plans to adapt the Cormoran
Strike books were announced
in late 2014, and Harry Potter
author Rowling acted as an
executive producer. Actors Tom
Burke and Holliday Grainger
were cast as Strike and Robin
Ellacott in 2016. Adaptations of
The Cuckoo's Calling and The
Silkworm (originally shown last
August and September) were
repeated on BBC Four last month, whilst Rowling's work on the fourth
Strike mystery, Lethal White continues.
Career of Evil (published in 2015) concluded on BBC One last Sunday, and featured twelve Doctor Who cast and crew connections:

  • Jessica Gunning (Holly) was Stacey Campbell in Partners in Crime
  • Cosima Shaw (Ellen) was Steffi Ehrlich in The Waters of Mars
  • Andrew Brooke (Brockbank) was Kahler-Tek the Gunslinger in A Town Called Mercy
