Doctor Who Vs. Grantchester, Series 5

returned for the fifth season of
ITV Studios' period crime drama
based on James Runcie's The Grantchester Mysteries.
A repeat run of the six-part series
(first shown in early 2020) began
on ITV3 last night - it featured Jemma Redgrave, and a total

Doctor Who Vs. Luther, Series 5

After an absence of three years,
the long-awaited fifth season of
Neil Cross' acclaimed thriller
debuted on BBC1 in January 2019.
Idris Elba returned as maverick
DCI John Luther in another dark
murder case, whilst newcomer
Wunmi Mosaku played DS Halliday.
Dermot Crowley, Michael Smiley,
and Ruth Wilson reprised their
respective roles as Schenk, Benny,
and Alice Morgan.
A film version of Luther, The
Fallen Sun, was finally unveiled
in cinemas this month, then is
launched on Netflix next month.
A repeat showing of the drama

Doctor Who Vs. Agatha and the Midnight Murders

This Channel 5 period crime drama (first shown in late 2020) was inspired by Agatha Christie's real-life antipathy towards her most famous creation. Tom Dalton's third screenplay to feature the Queen of Crime (following 2018's The Truth of Murder, and The Curse of Ishtar in 2019was now set during the London Blitz of 1940. Christie (1890-1976) finally killed off Hercule Poirot in Curtain - only published in 1975, over thirty years after its inception. Repeated on 5 tonight, the feature length thriller featured seven Doctor Who cast/crew connections:
