The twelfth production from the Carry Onstable was released in 1966, and is now
considered one of the best entries in the
run. The comedy was the last to be made
by Anglo Amalgamated before the fran-
chise moved to the Rank Organisation.
Series stalwarts Kenneth Williams, Joan
Sims, Peter Butterworth, Charles Hawtrey,
Bernard Bresslaw, and Jim Dale were now
joined by Fenella Fielding and Angela
Douglas - both making their second Carry On appearances.
Sid James (committed to panto) was
replaced by Steptoe and Son actor Harry
H Corbett (1925-1982) in the lead role of
Sergeant Bung.
The feature (a parody of the popular Hammer horror films) was shown on ITV3 last night - it also starred
Jon Pertwee (in his third series role, as Dr. Fettle), and six other
Doctor Who cast connections:
