The titular Block and its street address were named after influential
English sci-fi novelists John Wyndham and JG Ballard respectively.
Plans for the long-awaited sequel were announced last year.
This cult film (released in 2011), was shown again on Film4 last
night - it featured Jodie Whittaker, Luke Treadaway, and eight-
teen other Doctor Who cast and crew connections:
- Nick [John] Frost (Ron) played Santa Claus in Last Christmas
- Karl Collins [born Myers] (Dad) was Shaun Temple in The End of Time
- Yvonne D'Alpra (Nan) voiced Patricia Miller/Captain Caroline Byrne for Big Finish's Beyond Bannerman Road (2023)
- Adam Buxton (Documentary Voice) voiced an Assembler for The One Doctor (2001)
- Flaminia Cinque (Woman) voiced Patsy for four Jago & Litefoot adventures
- David Cann (Superintendant) narrated Hello Sailor! for The Sea Devils DVD release
- Paul Heasman, Jamie Edgell, Andy Godbold, Paul Herbert, Gary Hoptrough, Rob Hunt, Tony Lucken, Peter Miles, Andy Smart and Mens-Sana Tamakloe were all stunt performers on the revived series too
- prosthetic technician Rebecca Cain was an art finisher on Face the Raven
- Stuart Conran was also prosthetic make-up artist on New Earth and The Idiot's Lantern
