Doctor Who Vs. James Bond, Part 23: Skyfall

The twenty-third instalment in the iconic
franchise, the third to star Daniel Craig
as the British spy, was released by Eon
Productions in late 2012 and marked the
 fiftieth anniversary of cinematic Bond.
Skyfall proved to be the most successful
entry in the entire run, in terms of box
office earnings and accolades - two Oscars
(including the theme song by Adele), two
Grammy Awards, and two BAFTAs.
The film title was taken from the name of
the Bond family ancestral home at Glencoe
in the Scottish Highlands, and the setting
of the story's climax which saw the death
of M, portrayed by Judi Dench since
Goldeneye.
Ralph Fiennes played M's eventual successor, Mallory, and the new
assignment also introduced Ben Wishaw (the fourth actor to depict
Q), and Naomie Harris (Eve Moneypenny). Location filming was
undertaken in many parts of London, Turkey, and China, with
interiors filmed at Pinewood studios' custom-built 007 Stage.
Shown on ITV tonight, the film also featured Javier Bardem,
