Doctor Who Vs. Silent Witness, Series 6

The sixth season of this popular crime drama
returned to BBC1 in the autumn of 2002, and 
again starred Amanda
Burton as Home Office pathologist, Professor
Sam Ryan. She was
now joined by William Gaminara and Tom
Ward, as doctors Leo 
Dalton and Harry Cunningham.
Gaminara appeared
in over a hundred instalments until his character was killed off in the
finale of the sixteenth series, whilst Ward left the programme the year
before. A repeat run of the eight-part season began on Drama last
night - it featured a total of thirty-eight Doctor Who cast and crew
connections:

The Fall Out (TX: September 28 & 29)
  • Big Finish actor and director Barnaby Kay (DS Johnson) was Heidi in The Girl Who Died, and voiced Martin Donaldson for A Life in the Day (2015), Commander Thrakken for The Neverwhen (2016), Gerrard Pulman/Foreman for Prceious Annihilation (2020), and Chilton for The Devil's Hoofprints (2021)
  • Paterson Joseph (DS Harding) was Rodrick in Bad Wolf and The Parting of the Ways, and voiced Victor Espinosa for Earth Aid (2011), Matthew for Torchwood One (2018), and was cast in Broken Memories (2024)
  • Simon Sherlock (Barrett) voiced Kelsa for The Raincloud Man (2008)
  • Shaun Dooley (Preston) was Epzo in The Ghost Monument
  • Stuart Clark, Guy List, Peter Miles and Jo McLaren were also stunt performers on the revived run
  • dubbing editor Tony Gibson and focus puller Peter Howard both worked on An Adventure in Space and Time, as sound designer and assistant camera respectively
  • Ian Adrian was also a camera operator on The Vampires of Venice, The Hungry EarthCold BloodVincent and the Doctor and The Lodger
Kith and Kill (TX: October 5 & 6)
  • Roger Ennals (Technician here, Kris in Closed Ranks) was the Gorilla in The God Complex
  • Joseph Long (Lucas) was Rocco Colasanto in Turn Left, and the Pope in Extremis
  • Cathy Murphy (Alsion) was a Mum in The Christmas Invasion
  • Russell Tovey (Josh) was Midshipman Alonso Frame in Voyage of the Damned and The End of Time (2), then reprised for The Lives of Captain Jack (2017)
  • Ben Crompton (Irons) was Ross in Into the Dalek
  • Tim Delap (PC) voiced Falkus for Daleks Among Us (2013), and Kyle for The Waters of Amsterdam (2016)
  • Heather Tobias (Ginette) was one of twenty-six actresses who auditioned for the role of Leela in 1976
  • Tom Lucy was also a stunt co-ordinator on sixteen episodes (from Smith and Jones to The Next Doctor) and Torchwood
  • Emma Reid was also unit manager on The End of the World and The Unquiet Dead
