this 1950s-set crime drama was based on
The Grantchester Mysteries by novelist,
playwright and film maker James Runcie.
The series was adapted from the 2012
short story collection, Sidney Chambers
and the Shadow of Death.
Here, Anglican vicar Chambers (played
by James Norton) and DI Geordie Keating
(Robson Green) join forces to solve crimes
in the titular Cambridgeshire village.
Morven Christie, Tess Peake-Jones, and Al
Weaver were cast as Amanda, Sylvia and
Leonard Finch respectively.
A repeat run of the six-part season began
on ITV3 last night - it featured Jean Marsh,
David Troughton, Mark Bonnar, and a
total of twenty-five Doctor Who cast and
