Agatha Christie's thirty-fifth crime
novel was issued i 1945 - first in
America (as Remembered Death) then
in the UK.
Colonel Race's final case (of four)
expanded the plot of short story
Yellow Iris, published in Strand
Magazine in 1937.
Sparkling Cyanide was dramatised
twice for television - the CBS production
aired in 1983, whilst this Thames TV
version was broadcast in 2003.

Doctor Who Vs. James Bond, Part 22: Quantum of Solace

The twenty-second assignment in the Bond
franchise (the second to star Daniel Craig as
 Agent 007) was released by MGM and Eon Productions in late 2008.
The film's title was taken from For Your Eyes
Only, Ian Fleming's 1959 short story collection.
Location filming was undertaken in Chile, Italy,
Mexico, Panama, Austria and Wales, with
interiors filmed at the custom-built 007 Stage aPinewood studios.

Doctor Who Vs. Life On Mars, Series 2


The second and final season of BBC One's BAFTA and Emmy award
 winning cult fantasy drama originally aired from February to April
2007 - a repeat run began on That's TV 3 last night.
John Simm reprised his role as the lost-in-time cop, DI Sam Tyler
(pictured left), and would debut as the Master at the end of Utopia,
just two months later.

Doctor Who Vs. Spooks, Series 1

 

BBC1's popular spy drama began in the spring of 2002 with a six-
part series, endured for another nine seasons, and even spawned
a spin-off show for BBC Three (Spooks: Code 9), the feature film
Spooks: The Greater Good (2014), and an interactive video game.
The title of the show is a colloquialism for spies, and Spooks
originally aired in North America as MI5. Created by David
Wolstencroft and produced by Kudos, Spooks centred on a
fictional group of MI5 officers based at the service's London HQ,
Thames House.
The programme starred Matthew Macfadyen (as Tom Quinn), Keeley
 Hawes (Zoe Reynolds), David Oyelowo (Danny Hunter), Hugh Simon
(Malcolm Wynn-Jones), Rory MacGregor (Colin Wells), Jenny Agutter
 (Tessa Phillips), and Graeme Mearns (Jed Kelley), whilst Peter Firth
(Harry Pearce) was the only actor to appear in every series.
The death of Helen Flynn, played by Lisa Faulkner, in only the second
episode attracted controversy and the highest number of complaints
against the Corporation that year.

Doctor Who Vs. Grantchester, Series 1

Launched by ITV Studios in October 2014,
this 1950s-set crime drama was based on
 The Grantchester Mysteries by novelist,
playwright and film maker James Runcie.
The series was adapted from the 2012
short story collection, Sidney Chambers
and the Shadow of Death.
Here, Anglican vicar Chambers (played
by James Norton) and DI Geordie Keating
(Robson Green) join forces to solve crimes
in the titular Cambridgeshire village.
