Doctor Who Vs. Law & Order: UK, Series 1

"In the criminal justice system, the people are represented
by two separate yet equally important groups: the police who
investigate crime, and the Crown Prosecutors who prosecute
the offenders. These are their stories."

This long-running, London-based crime series from Kudos Films was
the first American television drama to be adapted for British TV, and
Chris Chibnall (writer and co-executive producer) based all seven
episodes here on scripts from the parent programme. Law & Order
(1990 to 2010), created by Dick Wolf, also spawned five further
spin-off shows, all from Universal productions.
Bradley Walsh (as DS Ronnie Brooks), Jamie Bamber (DS Matt
Devlin), and Dame Harriet Walter (DI Natalie Chandler) represented
the titular Law officers, whilst Ben Daniels (senior prosecutor James
Steel), Bill Paterson (CPS Director George Castle), and Freema
Agyeman (junior prosecutor Alesha Phillips) were the Order team.
Narration at the top of every episode was provided by Robert
Glenister (who later bemoaned his role in The Caves of Androzani).
A repeat run of these seven cases (originally shown in the spring
of 2009) began on ITV3 this week - they featured a total of forty-
