Doctor Who Vs. Marple: Ordeal By Innocence

The second part of ITV Studio's third
season of Marple was loosely based on
Agatha Christie's fiftieth novel, published
in 1958.
The mystery did not actually feature Jane
Marple (again portrayed here by Geraldine
McEwan) and one of the writer's favourite
 works. Now considered a classic of the genre,
the book has also been adapted for cinema,
stage, radio, and even a graphic novel.
This case (originally shown in June 2007) was
repeated on ITV3 today, and starred Juliet
Stevenson, Denis Lawson, Richard Armitage,
Alison Steadman, Camille CoduriGugu

  • Bryan Dick (Micky) voiced the Exec for Theatre of War (2015), Finnian Valentine for The Devil You Know (2018), and Major Thomas Langham/Berno Redcraw for The God of Phantoms (2021)
  • Pippa Haywood (Mrs. Price hee; Mrs. Upjohn in Cat Among the Pigeons, 2008; Mabel in Agatha and the Truth of Murder) voiced the Prime Minister for Embankment Station (2017), Jaxa for Seizure, Teremon for The War Master 2 (both 2018), and Captain Graff for Genetics of the Daleks (2020)
  • for Greg Bennett (Constable), Damien Timmer and Nigel Squibbs see The Body in the Library
  • for Michael PickwoadBen Ashmore and Jason Gill see At Bertram's Hotel
Released in 1984, the film version of Ordeal by Innocence starred
Donald Sutherland, Faye Dunaway and another ten Doctor Who
guest actors (Diana Quick, Annette Crosbie, Michael Maloney,
Anita Carey, Ron Pember, Brian Glover, Kevin Stoney, Billy
McColl, Rocky Taylor, and Martin Grace).
The BBC Radio 4 adaptation (broadcast in March 2014) featured
Michael Bertenshaw, Georgie Fuller, Arthur Hughes, and Wanda
Opalinska.
