In 1974, Martin became the first actor to portray the Doctor on stage in Doctor Who and the Daleks in the Seven Keys to Doomsday |
The third season of Central's acclaimed
crime drama was first screened in early 1989.
Part two was based on Colin Dexter's sixth
novel, The Riddle of the Third Mile (published
in 1983), and the final mystery was adapted
from the seventh Morse book, The Secret of
Annexe 3 (1986), whilst the other cases were
original screenplays from Julian Mitchell and
Anthony Minghella.
John Thaw and Kevin Whateley (as Oxford-
based detectives, Morse and Lewis) were now
joined by Amanda Hillwood (Thames Valley
CID's new pathologist, Dr. Russell), and James
Grout reprised his role of Superintendent
Strange for episode three.
