Doctor Who Vs. Carry On At Your Convenience

The twenty-second production from
the Carry On stable was released in
late 1971, and was the first comm-
ercial failure of the run. Marketed as
Carry On Round the Bend outside the
UK, the film attempted to explore
political themes of the day but alien-
ated the traditionally working-class 
target audience.
Shown on ITV3 tonight, the comedy
starred series stalwarts Sid James,
Kenneth Williams, Bernard Bresslaw,
 Charles Hawtrey, Hattie Jacques,
Joan Sims, Patsy Rowlands, and fif-
teen Doctor Who cast connections:

  • for Sims (Chloe) and Bresslaw (Bernie) see Carry On Nurse
