Doctor Who Vs. Trial & Retribution III

Grant first portrayed the
Doctor in Comic Relief's
The Curse of Fatal Death.
Following his return to
the 
role for Scream of
the 
Shalka, he depicted
the Great Intelligence
in 
The SnowmenThe
The Bells of Saint John
and The Name of the
Doctor.
Lynda La Plante's acclaimed crime drama
returned to ITV in October 1999 - again it
starred David Hayman, Dorian Lough, and
 Kate Buffery. Like La Plante's Prime Suspect,
the thriller employed a distinctive split-screen
technique. A repeat run of this two-part case
began on ITV3 last night - it featured Richard
E Grant, Anthony Higgins, and fifteen Doctor
 Who cast and crew connections:

  • Michael Simkins (CS Bradley) voiced Raxxil for Big Finish's The Planet of Witches (2020)
  • Phil Cornwell (Levine) was a Stallholder in The Fires of Pompeii, and voiced Superintendent Galgo/Zaleb 5 for Serpent in the Silver Mask (2018), and Parsnip for Spinvasion (2020)
  • TV presenter Angela [May] Rippon was the Newsreader for The Star Beast (2019)
  • John MacKay (Forensics) portrayed John Logie Baird in The Giggle
  • for Nicholas Blane see Series 1
  • for George Asprey, Simon Callow, Stephen Critchlow, John D Collins and Nikki Wilson see Series 2
  • clapper loader Jamie Southcott was focus puller on twelve episodes (from Human Nature to The End of Time), Torchwood and The Sarah Jane Adventures, then prop store- man/set dresser on fifteen other stories (from The Snowmen to Smile)
  • Alf Tramontin was Steadicam operator on Attack of the Graske too
  • Tony Gibson and Nigel Squibbs (sound department) both worked on An Adventure in Space and Time too
  • Wayne Mansell was an electrician on Love & Monsters too
