Doctor Who Vs. Life On Mars, Series 2


The second and final season of BBC One's BAFTA and Emmy
award winning cult fantasy drama originally aired from February
to April 2007 - a repeat run began on That's TV last night.
John Simm reprised his role as the lost-in-time cop, DI Sam
Tyler (pictured left), and would debut as the Master at the end
of Utopia, just two months later. 
Philip Glenister (as DCI Gene Hunt, centre), Dean Andrews (Ray
Carling), Marshall Lancaster (Chris Skelton), Liz White (Annie
Cartwright), and Tony Marshall (Nelson) also returned for the
eight part series. 
The programme's co-creator Matthew Graham, producer 
Marcus Wilson, writer Chris Chibnall, and directors Richard 
Clark and Andrew Gunn would all later work on the revived
series of Doctor Who - thirty further cast and crew connections

  • Jonty Stephens (Witham) voiced Paravatar for 1963: Fanfare for the Common Men (2013)
  • Eva Pope (Carol) voiced Nia Brusk for Army of Death (2011)
  • Tim Plester (Rocket) was a Servant in A Christmas Carol
  • Jason Watkins (Merrick) was Webley in Nightmare in Silver, voiced the Legate of the Caliph for The Destroyer of Delights, and the White Guardian for The Chaos Pool (both 2009)
  • Ian Hanmore (Wilkes) was Father Angelo in Tooth and Claw
  • Ian Puleston-Davies (Toolbox Terry) voiced Angus Selwyn for Absent Friends (2016)
  • Katherine Kelly (Heather) played Miss Quill in Class
