Hattie Jacques, Joan Sims, Bernard Bresslaw,
Barbara Windsor, Peter Butterworth, and Kenneth Connor all starred in the twenty-fourth instalment
in the comedy franchise.
June Whitfield (1925-2018) returned to the series
thirteen years after Carry On Nurse, whilst veteran
Charles Hawtrey made his twenty-third and final appearance of the run, and Jack Douglas made
his debut here.
Released in 1972, the comedy was inspired by
the craze of cheap package holidays that became
popular in the Seventies, and was set in the
resort of Elsbels. The film was shown on ITV3
today - it featured sixteen Doctor Who cast

- for Windsor (Sadie), Gertan Klauber and Hugh Futcher see Carry On Spying
- for Butterworth (Pepe) and Michael Stevens see Carry On Cowboy
- Ray [Michael] Brooks (Georgio) and [Frederick] Alan Meacham (Monk here; Audience in Carry On Girls; Painter in Carry On Behind) both appeared in Daleks' Invasion Earth 2150 AD, as David (pictured) and Prisoner - Brooks then voiced the titular Time Lord for Big Finish's The Trouble With Drax (2016), whilst Meacham was also Servant in (episode 4 of) The Massacre, and Technician in The Silurians (1)
- Peter Dukes (Monk) was a Citizen in Full Circle (4)
- Mike [Carew] Reynell (Tourist) was Exxilon in Death to the Daleks, and Kaled Scientist in Genesis of the Daleks (6)
