Based on the 1973 novel by Peter Van
Greenaway, this Anglo-French super-
natural thriller starred Burton (1925-
1984) and Lee Remick (1935-1991) as
author John Morlar and his psychiatrist
Dr. Zonfield. French actor Lino Ventura
played Brunel, the Parisian detective on Scotland Yard's exchange scheme.
The production was ITC Entertainment's fifteenth cinema feature, and was
released by Warner Bros. in 1978. Screened on Legend today, the film featured Derek Jacobi, Ian Marter, Jeremy Brett, Michael Hordern,
Gordon Jackson, and twelve other Doctor Who cast/crew connections:
- John Normington (Copley) was Trau Morgus in The Caves of Androzani, and Trevor Sigma in The Happiness Patrol
- Malcolm Tierney (Deacon) was Doland in Terror of the Vervoids
- Wendy [Thompson] Gifford (Receptionist) was [Jan] Garrett in The Ice Warriors
- Maurice O'Connell (DS Robbins) was Cockerill in Frontios
