third (of seven) to star Roger Moore as Agent
007, was released by Eon Productions/United
Artists in 1977. The film took its title from Ian
Fleming's ninth novel, published in 1962, but
contained no plot elements from the book.
Bernard Lee, Desmond Llewelyn, and Lois
Maxwell all reprised their respective roles as
M, Q, and Moneypenny.
Shot on location in Egypt, Sardinia, Malta,
Faslane, Nassau and Okinawa (and on the new

the adventure was nominated for three Oscars,
and featured a theme song by Carly Simon.
