ment as Agent 007. The title of Eon's thirteenth production was taken from Ian Fleming's 1966
anthology, Octopussy and the Living Daylights.
Although an original screenplay, this story was
loosely based on another short story, The
Property of a Lady.
Main location filming was undertaken in India,
England and Berlin, interiors were filmed at
Pinewood studios, and Rita Coolidge provided the
opening theme song.
Following the death of Bernard Lee in 1981, Robert
Brown made his first of four appearances here as
M, and the film (released in 1983) featured twenty
