Doctor Who Vs. Campion, Series 1


The only television adaptations of the classic crime stories of Margery 
Allingham were originally transmitted in 1989 and 1990, and starred 
Peter Davison as the gentleman sleuth Albert Campion, with Brian 
Glover (as his manservant Magersfontein Lugg, left), and Andrew Burt 
(as Inspector Stanislaus Oates, right).
Allingham (1904-1966) penned eighteen Campion novels and twenty 
short stories between 1929 and 1965, whilst her final work (Cargo of 
Eagleswas completed by her husband and published posthumously 
in 1968.
repeat run of the first, eight-part series concluded on Drama on
