Doctor Who Vs. Cadfael, Series 1

Thirteen of The Cadfael Chronicles (the

series of twenty historical murder

mysteries  from Ellis Peters - the pen

name of Edith Pargeter), were drama-

tised by Central TV, and originally

shown from 1994 to 1998.

The drama was set mainly in twelfth

century Shrewsbury, but was filmed in

Hungary - the eponymous Benedictine

Brother was portrayed by Derek Jacobi.

A repeat run of the first, four part season

continued on ITV4 today - it featured
