Doctor Who Vs. Bergerac, Series 9

The fifth Christmas special devoted to BBC1's
popular Jersey-based crime drama preceded
this ten-part season, originally shown in early
1991.
Blacklight TV's reimagined version of Bergerac
launched on UKTV last February - Damien
Molony now portrayed the titular detective.
repeat run of the ninth and final series con-
tinued on U&Drama today - it again featured

  • [Rafael] David de Keyser (Crouzil) provided the voice of the Atraxi for The Eleventh Hour, and voiced the Cybermen for The Eternity Clock
  • Frederick [William] Treves (Leighton) was Brotadac in Meglos
  • Michael Hobbs (Frank) voiced Francis Currie for UNIT (2004/05), Fazackerly for Other Lives (2005), and Arcantis for Time in Office (2017)
  • Martin Cochrane (Wilson) was General Chellak in The Caves of Androzani
  • André [Gaston] Maranne [born Maillol] (Commissaire) was Roger Benoit in The Moonbase
  • John [William Francis] Hallam (Le Rozier) was Light in Ghost Light

  • Eileen [Mabel Elizabeth] Way (Mrs. Edwards) was Old Mother [the first character to die in the programme] in 100,000 BC, and Karela in The Creature from the Pit
  • Simon Coady (Stephen) provided the Video Commentary for Paradise Towers
  • Leonard Maguire (Bolingham) was Draith in Full Circle
  • Peter [Francois] Cellier (Perkins) was Andrews in (part 1 of) Time Flight
  • [Hugh Valentine] Simon Williams (Draper) was Group Captain Ian Gilmore in Remembrance of the Daleks - a role he reprised for Big Finish's Counter Measures1963: The Assassination Games (2013), The Reesinger Process (2014), Who Killed Toby Kinsella? (2016) and The Split Infinitive (2019) - he also voiced Paul Addison/Shara for Nekromanteia (2003), Lord Ruthven for The Ruthven Inheritance (2011), and titular keeper for The Guardians of Prophecy (2013)
  • Bill [Francis] Nighy (Barry) was Dr. Black in Vincent and the Doctor
  • Iain Rattray (Waiter) was Habris in State of Decay
  • stunt co-ordinator Rocky [Laurie] Taylor was a stuntman on The Idiot's Lantern, following uncredited appearances as a Warrior in The Daleks' Master Plan (9), and Guard in The Curse of Peladon (4)
