Doctor Who Vs. Carry On Teacher

Released in 1959, this production
(only the third entry in the iconic
British film franchise) was made to
capitalise on the popularity of the
 St. Trinian's features. Drayton
Green Primary in Ealing doubled
for fictional Maudlin Street School.
Series regulars Kenneth Williams, Charles Hawtrey, Joan Sims,
Hattie Jacques, Kenneth Connor,
Leslie Phillips, and Cyril
Chamberlain were joined here by Ted Ray and Richard O'Sullivan in their sole Carry On roles, whilst Rosalind Knight made her second appearance.
Shown on Great! TV today, this comedy (again written by Norman Hudis)
featured these seven Doctor Who cast connections:
  • for Sims and Phillips see Carry On Nurse
  • Jeremy Bulloch (Schoolboy) was Tor in The Space Museum, and Hal in The Time Warrior
  • Sandra Bryant (Schoolgirl) was Kitty in The War Machines, and Chicki in (episode 1 of) The Macra Terror
  • Jacqueline Lewis (Pat) was a Guardian in The Ark
  • Ernest Blyth (Parent here; Guest in Carry On Girls) was a Villager in The Daemons
  • Roy Hines (Harry) was the elder brother of Frazer Hines
