Doctor Who Vs. Carry On Don't Lose Your Head

The thirteenth production in the
British film franchise was the first
Carry On feature produced by the
Rank Organisation, and was not
planned as part of the series.
Don't Lose Your Head and the
next title, Follow That Camel,
were both originally promoted
without the Carry On prefix.
Series veterans Sid James,
Kenneth Williams, Joan Sims,
Jim Dale, Charles Hawtrey, and
Peter Butterworth were joined here by French actress Dany Robin.
Released in late 1966 as a parody of Baroness Orczy's The Scarlet
Pimpernel, the comedy was shown on ITV3 today - it featured these nineteen Doctor Who cast connections:

  • Douglas Roe (Soldier) was Prisoner in The War Games (2), and titular alien in The Claws of Axos (1)
  • Peter Brace (Soldier) was Guard in The Curse of Peladon (4), and Soldier in The Android Invasion (2)
  • Tina Simmons (Citizen here; Camper in Carry On CampingNurse in Carry On Matron) began her career as Inferno Patron in The War Machines (1), then was Passenger in The Faceless Ones (1)
