Doctor Who Vs. The House That Dripped Blood


Shown on Legend last night, this British anthology feature starred the
newly cast Third Doctor actor, Jon Pertwee (pictured as Henderson),
cinema Doctor Peter Cushing, and Unbound Time Lord Geoffrey
Bayldon.
Released by Amicus in 1971, the film consisted of four linked short
stories, all scripted by Psycho writer, Robert Bloch. Here, a Scotland
Yard detective investigated the mysteries, all centred on the epony-
mous building. The production also featured Christopher Lee, Joss
Ackland, Denholm Elliott, and eleven other Doctor Who cast and
crew connections:
  • Max Rosenberg and Milton Subotsky were also co-producers of Dr. Who and the Daleks and Daleks' Invasion Earth 2150 AD
  • John [David] Bennett (DI Holloway) was General Finch in Invasion of the Dinosaurs, and Li H'sen Chang in The Talons of Weng-Chiang
  • John [Victor Mortimer] Bryans (Stoker) was Torvin in The Creature from the Pit
  • Ingrid Pitt [born Ingoushka Petrov] (Carla) and Tom [born Anthony Frederick Charles] Adams (Dominick) both appeared in Warriors of the Deep, as Dr Solow and Commander Vorshak respectivley - Pitt was also Queen Galleia in The Time Monster, whilst she and husband Tony Rudlin submitted a Doctor Who script in 1984, which was eventually produced as The Macros by Big Finish in 2010
  • Richard Coe (Talmadge) was the TV Announcer in (episode 1 of) The Chase
  • Wolfe Morris [born Steinberg] (Proprietor) was Padmasambhava in The Abominable Snowmen
  • Roy Evans (Hunchback) was Trantis in The Daleks' Master Plan, Bert in The Green Death, and Miner in The Monster of Peladon
  • Joanna [Lamond] Lumley (Crew girl) appeared in The Curse of the Fatal Death as the first female incarnation of the Doctor
  • stuntman Peter [Alexander] Diamond was regular stunt double and fight arranger on the classic run (from The Daleks to The Daemons)
