Lynda La Plante's acclaimed crime drama returned to ITV
in June 2002, delayed from
its usual October slot by the
9/11 attacks.
David Hayman (as DCS Mike

Like La Plante's earlier hit
series Prime Suspect, the programme employed its distinctive split-
