Doctor Who Vs. Carry On Camping

The BFI observed that "although
seemingly anarchic, the Carry On
films were always inherently conser-
vative. This is clearly demonstrated"

This classic British romp was filmed
just after the Summer of Love, at
the height of global student unrest.
Series stalwarts Sid James, Joan
Sims, Bernard Bresslaw, Kenneth
Williams, Charles Hawtrey, Hattie
Jacques, Barbara Windsor, Peter
Butterworth, and Terry Scott all
starred in the seventeenth entry in
the franchise. Released in 1972,
Carry On Camping was the most
successful film at the British box
office that year, and is now regarded as one the best loved titles in the
run. Shown today during ITV3's festive Carry On season, the comedy
featured these fifteen Doctor Who cast connections:
