The second series of Carnival Films' dark

crime drama was again written by Ben

Court and Caroline Ip, and first aired on

ITV in October 2010. Seasons one and

two were shown together on BBC

America in a complete six-part run -

entitled The Walk of Terror and The

 Legend Rising respectively.

The recurring motif of Whitechapel, the recreation of historic East End crimes, continued here with murders that echoed

those committed by the Kray twins in the 1960's.

Rupert Penry-Jones (DI Chandler), Phil

Davis (DS Miles), Steve Pemberton

(Buchan), Sam Stockman (DC Kent),

Claire Rushbrook (Dr. Llewellyn), and

Alex Jennings (Anderson) all returned for this case, now joined by Ben Bishop (DC Mansell). Craig Parkinson portrayed both Jimmy and Johnny Brooks,

brothers supposedly descended from the Krays.

A repeat run of the three-part season began on U&Drama last night - it

featured Trevor Martin, and a total of eighteen Doctor Who cast and crew connections:

• Bishop voiced Johnny Stone for Big Finish's The Justice of Jalxar (2013), and Kenny White for Changing of the Guard (2014)
• Parkinson was the Grand Serpent in Flux
• Peter [Syzmon] Serafinowicz (DCI Cazenove) provided the voice of the Fisher King in Before the Flood
• Andrew Tiernan (Dukes) was Jim Purcell in Night Terrors
• Lee Moulds (Ronnie) was an Assistant Director in An Adventure in Space and Time
• Nicholas Blane (Harkness) was Millington in Survivors of the Flux
• [William Henry] Richard Clifford (Wilmot) voiced Novar for The Master's Dalek Plan, Pandak for Shockwave (both 2019), Merlin for The Lone Centurion 2 (2021), and Jessop for Mind of the Hodiac (2022)
• Nila Aalia (Dr. Wilkes) was Lakshmi Chandra in Wish World
• Chrissie Cotterill (Angie) was Madame Vernet in Vincent and the Doctor
• Trevor Michael Georges (Sergeant) was the Vicar in The Runaway Bride
• Lacey Bond (Barmaid) was a Serving Woman in The End of Time
• Tom Lucy was also the stunt co-ordinator on sixteen episodes (from Smith and Jones to The Next Doctor)
• stuntman Curtis Rivers doubled for John Barrowman in Utopia, The Sound of Drums and Torchwood
• Mark Davis was film editor on The Bells of Saint John too
• James Blackwell was first assistant director on Partners in Crime too
• Pete Scott was also electrician on A Christmas Carol and Closing Time
• production buyer Cathy Cosgrove began her TV career on Delta and the Bannermen
• Emma Woodcock was also location manager on Voyage of the Damned and Turn Left
