Doctor Who Vs. James Bond, Part 3: Goldfinger

Ian Fleming's seventh spy novel (pub-
lished in 1959) was adapted by Eon Productions as their third Bond feature, whilst the Thunderball court case was
still ongoing.
Released in 1964, the film was the first blockbuster of the run (with a budget
equal to both preceding productions combined), and the first to win an Oscar.
In 1999, Goldfinger ranked 70th in the BFI's Top 100 British cinema poll. Shown
on ITV4 last night, Sean Connery's third assignment featured Bernard Lee, Lois
