Doctor Who Vs. 55 Degrees North

In this BBC1 crime drama,
Don Gilet played Nicky Cole,
the Detective Sergeant trans-
fered from London to the fictional Tyneside police force in Newcastle (the titular
destination) after exposing
 police corruption in the Met. 
The first, six-part run aired
during the summer of 2004,
and the eight part second season was shown a year
later. The programme was broadcast on BBC America under it's working title, The Night Detective. Both series were released
on DVD in 2006, and 55 Degrees North has seldom been repeated since
